Scott Montague vs. Clayton Middlebrook

A semi final match in any sport requires a player or team of players to bring their A game to arena, or face elimination. Clayton Middlebrook and Scott Montague both knew they had to bring it, or the other would take them out.

In the darts world the A game involves high scoring to get to a double, and hitting that double to get you to victory. Scott Montague hit his got to the double and hit them a bit more consistenly than Middlebrook, who felt he struggled with his game from the onset.

With Montague nailing the first two of the best of 5 sets, Middlebrook knew he had to turn it up. He did coming back and taking set 3 while they were both at the double, 2 legs apiece. But Montague kicked it back in and took 3 of the next 4 legs to move himself into the final against the winner of Scott Kelly vs. Wayne Dragstra.

"I just couldn't get my game going... it's been that way for a few weeks now." Middlebrook was quoted. "Scotty played well and did what he needed to beat me.".

Things weren't exactly all over the map for Clayt as he banged a 180 and numerous 100+ shots in the match, it's just he didn't finish like he's been known to. Congrats to the 2008 finalist, making it to the semis this year.

And congratulations to Scott Montague who would later meet the other semi finalist in the final.
